What is an Ephemerarium? In the spirit of a Victorian horticultural glass house or Crystal Palace, it is a place to display my carefully tended specimens. It magnifies natural light, collects heat, and functions as a kind of public grow-op for my artmaking.
Ephemerarium is a place for me to put things together that are–in everyday life–all over the place and all over time, especially the work I do with collage, drawing, film, social research, and libraries. A virtual wunderkammer. I hope Ephemerarium will develop into a kind of organic system containing scraps of various printed and organic matter, preserved under glass, pressed between pages, or held fast under wax.
